“The View” host Meghan McCain lashed out in frustration Wednesday after her co-hosts and several audience members challenged her views on the recent NFL player protests.

The daytime hosts discussed the NFL’s new policy requiring players to stand “and respect the flag” during the national anthem or face a fine from the league. The rule comes after months of deliberation and was met with praise from President Donald Trump, who once dubbed NFL players “sons of b-tches” for kneeling in protest of racial injustice and police brutality in America.

Co-host Sunny Hostin offered her thoughts on the matter, arguing critics don’t understand the purpose behind the on-field demonstrations.

“As I’ve said many times, this protest is not about the national anthem,” Hostin said. “This protest is not about the flag.”

She then brought up the incident of Milwaukee Bucks player Sterling Brown, who was brutally arrested and tased by police over a parking ticket.

“This country terrorizes African-American men at a bigger rate than white men,” Hostin continued. “If I want to kneel because I don’t think America is as great as she can be, I don’t think America has lived up to the promise of the flag — that means I am just as American as you are when you stand in homage to your parents’ service.”

Co-host Joy Behar chimed in, noting Trump’s visible anger over the protests. That’s when McCain tried to justify the president’s outrage.

“It’s a very emotional issue,” she argued. “I can’t analyze his anger in different places, he has been angry and irrational in a lot of different places.”

McCain’s discord with her tablemates was apparent, as she cited poll results showing that most Americans took her side on the issue.

“I disagree with everyone on this table,” she said. “I would never be okay with somebody not saluting the flag. By the way, 72 percent of Americans, according to Reuters, said that they thought [Colin] Kaepernick’s behavior was unpatriotic.”

Her point was interrupted by Hostin, who pointed out that a vast majority of African- Americans saw Kaepernick’s decision to kneel as patriotic. McCain’s frustration quickly became visible.

“Can I just finish what I’m saying?,” McCain said, as the audience drowned her out with their applause for Hostin.

“I’m still talking!” McCain yelled at them. “I’m still talking, I’m still speaking.”

The senator’s daughter tried to get the last word in, but co-host Whoopi Goldberg quickly took the show to a commercial break.
