Cardi B wants to make something clear: her remarks on respecting strippers have nothing to do with the #MeToo movement.
The “Bodak Yellow” MC gave a candid interview for Cosmopolitan magazine’s April issue and explained that as a stripper, she demanded some respect be put on their names.
“People say, ‘Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it,” she said. “Because y’all don’t respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on.”
Yet some articles that picked up the interview got her remarks confused with comments made later in the piece that discussed the #MeToo movement and how video vixens fit into it.

“A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a f—,” she said. “When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’ Then they pull their d—s out. I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a ho. It don’t matter.’”
“These producers and directors, they’re not woke, they’re scared,” she said of the Hollywood men who appear to have embraced the movement.
Because of the confusion, the 25-year-old, who is rumored to be pregnant with her first child with rapper boyfriend Offsett, took to IG to clear things up for good.
“My stripper comment had nothing to do with the Me Too Movement,” she wrote in a post captured by Baller Alert Tuesday, March 20. “What I said about the Me Too movement was there’s a lot of video vixens and urban models that get [bribed] by [men], photographers, directors.”
She added that video vixens are made to do “something sexual” in order to book gigs and that “nobody cares” when they speak out about mistreatment.
“A lot of women out here always talking about equality and feminism but ya want to have a standard on what ya should stand up for,” she wrote. “You should stand to protect all type of women.”

Her post was met with lots of support from commenters.
“She has a point,” someone remarked.
“💯💯💯,” someone else simply commented.
“It’s straight truth.. support all or none,” someone said. “Jesus doesn’t have a selection of who should be saved so why should we. Unless your judgemental or think [you’re] better then it’s a no-brainer”
“Minus the horrific grammar, she def has a point,” a person wrote. “The women hate because they feel threatened by them & the men hate because they want to be with them!! 🤷🏾♀️”
