Jay-Z Makes Surprise Visit to Trayvon Martin Event In Miami

Jay-Z made a surprise appearance at the sixth annual Peace Talk and Peace Walk event held in Miami this past Saturday. The legendary rapper joined Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin who host the yearly event in honor of their son Trayvon Martin. Jay gave a short speech to the hundreds of marchers present urging them to always remember what Trayvon Martin means to the community, “We want to make sure that we stand and support and never forget that Trayvon serves as a beacon of light to the people out here. So you guys will never have to go through the pain and hurt that these guys went through.”

‘The Story of O.J’ rapper has been working closely with Sybrina and Tracy on other projects related to their son since his death at the hands of George Zimmerman in 2012. Early last year, Jay-Z announced a three-part documentary series called “Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story”. The documentary is based on the book of a similar title, “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin”, written by the teen’s parents 5 years after his death. The film is scheduled for a July 2018 release date.
