Al Roker wasted no time coming to Hoda Kotb’s defense. The long-time “Today” show weatherman congratulated Kotb on her new role as co-anchor. But one user decided to diss the journalist. And when they did, Roker relied on his usual wit to clap back.

It began Tuesday, Jan. 2, when Barb tweeted she sought a “seasoned man” to take over Matt Lauer’s seat after sexual misconduct allegations cost him his job in November.

While others chimed in questioning why a woman can’t do the job, Roker issued this zinger and then, Barb explained herself to no avail.

The clap back earned Roker praise from his followers.
