If there’s a celebrity that people can count on to change their name, it’s definitely Diddy.
Over the years he’s changed his stage name multiple times. It first began with Puff Daddy, to Puffy, then P. Diddy and concluded with Diddy, so everyone thought.
Last year Diddy made a shocking announcement when he posted a video on Instagram renaming himself “Brother Love”. “My new name is Love, aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy, or any of my other monikers”, he said. He later retracted his statement and claimed he was joking around. “I was only joking. You can address me by any of my older names”, he said.
Wednesday night, Jan. 3 on Jimmel Kimmel Live, Diddy stopped by to explain how his new moniker came to be and that he only backtracked on ‘Brother Love’ due to pressure from his PR. “I never went back to Diddy. I made an edit from Brother Love, since I’m already black, to just Love. It’s working out great. Who doesn’t love, Love”, he said.
Fans wondered if they could expect another name change from “Love” or is this the end of his sobriquets?
