Happy birthday Colin Kaepernick! Although fans probably wish the free agent quarterback could be celebrating in happier circumstances. Kaepernick recently lost another opportunity to return to the NFL after the Houston Texans lost its star quarterback Deshaun Watson for the season. The rookie QB tore his ACL during practice on Thursday, Nov. 2. The Texans opted to sign Matt McGloin as his replacement.
A Houston Chronicle reporter was one of the journalists who tweeted the news about the former Penn State Nittany Lions starting quarterback from an NFL source.

Another sports reporter noted the Texans didn’t ask about Kaepernick at all.
Texans did not place a call or make an inquiry of any sort to Colin Kaepernick. Signbing McGloin without any approach to him

As a result, a debate emerged over whether or not the team, owned by Bob McNair — whose comments about inmates running the prison stirred controversy last month — should have signed Kaepernick.

Some voiced disappointment about the star losing out on joining the team.
Genuinely can't see how Kaepernick ISN'T a collusion victim. T.J Yates just got signed. Matt McGloin is employed. Ridiculous.

Another starting quarterback goes down for the season… another team passes on Colin Kaepernick

Can anyone possibly believe these 3 give the Texans a better chance to save their season than Colin Kaepernick? https://t.co/412luRuqvY

Still, many didn’t think the former 49er had a chance.
The idea of Bob McNair signing off on Kaepernick is hilarious. Better shot he tries to woo Warren Moon out of retirement. https://t.co/6Aibz6jC9X

One just straight up said fans weren’t upset about the matter.
No we are not….

And a couple poked fun at McNair’s choice not to sign the activist.
Texans fans: Mr. McNair we need a QB fast, how about Kaepernick, he’s a good option?

And on this 30th birthday, one person acknowledged that getting signed is one present Kaepernick won’t receive.
Colin Kaepernick turns 30 today: Kappy won't get any presents; because the ones he should get are all going to less talented Qb's.

However, his supporters and some celebs still celebrated his life and activism.
