Trevor Noah and ‘The Daily Show’ are sticking together. The comedian has cemented his late-night talk show status and will continue hosting the show through 2022.
Trevor Noah Set to Host ‘The Daily Show’ for 5 More Years
“I’m thrilled to be continuing this amazing journey with both fans of The Daily Show and Comedy Central,” Noah said in a Thursday, Sept. 14, press release. “It’s really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all — whichever one comes first.”
As part of his contract extension, Noah will host and produce year-end specials annually beginning this year. His re-up follows “The Daily Show” scoring its most-watched month in August, averaging 1.6 million total viewers.

This is a huge win for Black late night TV hosts after Larry Wilmore’s “The Nightly Show” was canceled last year. However, Wilmore, like Noah, isn’t doing bad for himself. He landed on his feet by snatching a deal with ABC in November.
