Remembering Dr. Sebi: Holistic Healer Discuss Target On His Back After Winning 1988 Supreme Court Case

Holistic healer Dr. Sebi (Alfredo Bowman) died Saturday due to complications with pneumonia at 82 in his native Honduras while in custody in a local jail.

According to Health Nut News, the natural healer died while in transit to the Vicente D’antoni Hospital  in the Central American country.

Local officials detained Sebi on May 28 at the Juan Manuel Galvez de Roatan Airport on Roatan Island, Honduras on the suspicion of money laundering.

Allegedly, the healer was carrying $20,000 and his associate, Pablo Medina Gamboa, had $30,000 before both were apprehended at the airport, per Secretenergy.com.

Vibe reports that the healer showed paperwork revealing that the money was acquired by legitimate means. However, he was still arrested.

The herbal healer, pathologist and naturalist helped celebrities like TLC’s Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Michael Jackson in his career.

He was known for curing HIV, diabetes, and other ailments using plants and herbs of North, South and Central America, Africa and the Caribbean. Sebi’s natural remedies was an alternative to western medicine that proved to be ineffective in many cases.

In the video clip from an October 2015 appearance on “The Rock Newman Show,” Sebi talks about how he won his Supreme Court case in 1988.

He was arrested in February 1987 for allegedly practicing medicine without a license. Sebi tells Newman how he won his case by bringing in 71 former patients as witnesses.

In the video below, a young woman spoke at the Usha village in Honduras about his death.
