Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant scored 21 points and Reggie Jackson dropped 29, giving the Thunder a 103-99 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Tuesday’s preseason game.
Durant kicked into overdrive scoring 14 of his 21 points in the third quarter, taking his team from a 51-48 deficit to an 83-74 lead.
“We demand a level of play and he is as coachable as any player I have seen in this league,” Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks said. “He is going to continue to get better. He has the talent, the skill, the body, the touch, the gifted game. But he also has an unmatched work ethic.”
The 76ers didn’t go down without a fight. Tony Wroten scored 20 points and Evan Turner had 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists to tie at 85 in the fourth.
“I am really proud of our guys,” first-year 76ers coach Brett Brown said. “I see carryover. That’s the holy grail.”
