Philadelphia Eagles’ Michael Vick suffered a hamstring injury against the New York Giants on Sunday and now news has surfaced that the starting quarterback will not play in Week 6 against Tampa Bay, according to sources.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly wouldn’t publicly confirm his QB would definitely sit out against the Buccaneers. Kelly said on Monday that Vick is monitored daily, and that no decision has been made yet on who the starting quarterback will be in Week 6.
Vick threw for 105 yards and ran for 79 before being injured in the second quarter against the Giants Sunday. At the time, Philadelphia was leading 16-7.
The Eagles will now have to rely on second-year quarterback Nick Foles, while Vick recovers from his injury. Foles played well against the Giants in just over two quarters of action. He led the team in four scoring drives and took a 21-19 lead.
Foles threw for 16 of 25 for 197 yards and two touchdowns.
