Her Highness: ‘The Queen Latifah Show’ Debuts With Solid Ratings

Queen Latifah hosts one of the most highly anticipated talk shows of the season, titled “The Queen Latifah Show.” The Sony TV production lived up to the hype when it debuted to a 1.7 household rating yesterday and a 0.9/5 in women 25-54, according to Deadline:

“This is one of the best daytime premieres in four years. The Queen Latifah Show might have trailed Katie Couric’s massive debut last season, but she’s second from the top, when it comes to top talker entries since Dr. Oz in 2009.”

The opener featured guest John Travolta and a performance by Willow Smith, daughter of the show’s executive producer Will Smith. It did particularly well on CBS-owned and affiliated stations in big markets including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Dallas.

In tonight’s episode, which is syndicated so check local stations, “Jeopardy!” host, Alex Trebek will sit down with Latifah and Will Smith will also make an appearance on his own show.
