Lil Wayne Opens up to Katie Couric About Recent Hospitalization and Seizures

Rapper Lil Wayne is ready to open up to world and he will do so in an exclusive interview with television talk show host Katie Couric.

The Cash Money artist will appear on the second season premiere of the nationally syndicated daytime talk show “Katie,” airing Monday, Sept. 9.  During the segment, Wayne speaks candidly for the first time about his recent hospitalization and seizures. He also talks to Katie about his time behind bars, addiction to prescription-strength cough syrup and why he dropped out of high school.

This is not the first time the rapper sat down and bared his soul to Couric. Back in 2009, Lil Wayne spoke with her on the CBS “All Access Grammy Special.”

That interview led to Wayne’s famous statement: “I’m a rapper. That’s who I am Miss Katie, and I am a gangsta, and I do what I want.”

In Monday’s episode, Lil Wayne will also do something special to Couric’s minivan, but details on exactly what that is have not been released.

Katie is nationally syndicated, so check its website or your local listings for airtime. Until then, watch a sneak peek video of Lil Wayne’s interview with Katie Couric.
