Guess Who’s Back: Eminem Debuts ‘Survival’

Rap star Eminem is back with a new song “Survival,” that will be on his upcoming album. Shady introduced the song in a new commercial for popular video game Call Of Duty: Ghosts. This continues the current trend in music, as musicians are increasingly looking to connect other industries to their music, creating more revenue streams. According to MTV.com:

“On Wednesday (August 14,) Em’s new tune backed a three-minute online trailer for Activision’s upcoming ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ video game. The clip begins in a snow-covered forest as rock guitars set the tone before the full thump and hook drops. ‘This is survival of fittest,” wails Liz Rodrigues, from the group New Royales.”

“Survival” is a rock-infused, hard-hitting track produced by DJ Khalil featuring Liz Rodrigues of The New Royales.

Although the new song is set to be on Shady’s seventh studio album release, no dates have been scheduled. The name, or theme of the album hasn’t been disclosed either. As reported by theguardian.com:

“Eminem has remained characteristically quiet about his first solo album in three years. He has not announced a concept, a title, a release date, or any of his collaborators. At a surprise appearance last year, in New York, he didn’t perform any new material. But according to comments by Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg, the record is due this autumn; and yesterday’s press release said the lead single is ‘coming soon.'”

Eminem says he’s closely involved in the new Call Of Duty: Ghosts game and will be filming a video for “Survival” soon. Check out the video below of him introducing the song, and the video trailer.
