CBS’ Golden Boy Theo James, has just signed on to star in the Neil Burger directed adaptation of Divergent. The actor has joined Kate Winslet, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q and Jai Courtney, who have all already signed on to play in the project.
Based on Veronica Roth’s Divergent, the project is described as a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities. Tris Prior, played by Shailene Woodley, is diagnosed as a Divergent and could never mix with any other group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being a Divergent so taboo before its too late.
James will be playing Four, Tris’ intense yet charismatic instructor and one of the leaders of the Dauntless Faction.
James made quite an impression on some high level executive over at Lionsgate. “We took our time to find the right actor to fill the role of Four, and Theo is definitely the perfect fit,” said president of production, Erik Feig.
Filming for the movie is set to begin in April of this year in Chicago. Divergent is schedule to hit theaters March 21, 2014.
