As the blockbuster season approaches, studios are stepping up the promo of those summer cash cow films. Of course this includes Disney, which has just released a new international trailer promoting Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger
The film, expected to be one of the studios biggest titles, stars Johnny Depp as Native American Spirit Warrior ‘Tonto’ and Armie Hammer as Texas lawman ‘John Reid’
Created to target a Japanese audience, the clip begins by revealing more scenes depicting Tonto’s backstory, which isn’t surprising since Depp has a strong international presence. Armie Hammer’s Lone Ranger character eventually becomes the center of attention, followed by the typical string of action, explosions, collisions and flying debris.
Although Lone Ranger was an established favorite back in its days as a television series, I’m not sure how well it will be received by moviegoers today, especially because is seems to be of the same flavor as box office failures Cowboys & Aliens or Wild Wild West.
Anyhow check out The Lone Ranger international trailer below and let us know how you feel about the masked law man and his face painted sidekick.
