Earlier this week, Mandy Moore was ousted from Pulling, a new ABC sitcom currently in development. Poor Mandy Moore. Despite what I previously hoped, looks like the third time isn’t the charm after all.
Apparently Moore and the Pulling producers had different directions in mind for her character, Louise, resulting in Moore leaving the show. Shortly thereafter Deadline revealed that Kristen Schaal would take over the role. Schaal and Moore couldn’t be more different actresses, so the whole “going in different directions” thing really does make sense.
Schaal will now play Louise, an optimistic, husband hungry thirty-something woman. Schaal is known for her quirky off beat characters. She recently recurred in 30 Rock as Kenneth’s replacement page, Hazel Wassername. She has a penchant for voice acting, including a character (also named Louise) on Fox’s Bob’s Burgers, Disney’s Gravity Falls, and many others.
Sad news for Mandy, but I personally hope this gives her more time to work on Tangled 2…
