As season 2 of American Horror Story draws to a close, season 3 is gearing up to blow us away. Executive producer/ creator, Ryan Murphy, just announced that Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will both be returning for season 3. Murphy also revealed the third season will center on a romantic story line set in modern times. Ok, so none of those facts are particularly “mind blowing,” but those tidbits leave me wanting more juicy details about the next season of the bone-chilling series.
The return of Peters and Paulson is no real surprise. Both actors were featured in the 1st and 2nd seasons of the hit show. Murphy confirmed back in November that Golden Globe and Emmy winner, Jessica Lange, would also be back for the third season. No other official casting announcements have been made. Only time will tell if Murphy will bring back anymore of his favorite actors. A handful of other stars appeared in Seasons 1 & 2, such as Zachary Quinto, Dylan McDermott, Lily Rabe, and Frances Conroy.
While I thought the second season occasionally lost focus and had a few too many story lines, the first two seasons were both undoubtedly terrifying and original. Regardless of minor criticisms, season 2 scared the heebie jeebies out of me, fingers crossed season 3 will do the same.
