'The Voice' season 3 winner crowned

The pop-punk turned slightly country princess, Cassadee Pope, was crowned tonight’s season 3 winner of NBC’s The Voice.

The twenty-three year old West Palm Beach native left her band, Hey Monday, in hopes of breaking out as a solo artist. Tonight, Cassadee’s dreams were fulfilled as host Carson Daly announced she is the winner of a recording contract and $100,000.

Cassadee’s fellow member of Team Blake, Terry McDermott, came in second, while Team Cee Lo’s Nicholas David took third.

Although Terry McDermott and Nicholas David did not win the title of The Voice, all three contestants each won a brand-new Kia, courtesy of coach Cee Lo Green. Cee Lo donned a Santa suit, while riding onto the stage in a sleigh, singing “Ho, Ho, Ho” and letting each contestant know that they were already winners.  So, even though Terry and Nicolas did not place at the top, I’m sure this is probably the biggest Christmas present they have ever received.

The finale wrapped with Cassadee Pope crying, thanking her coach, Blake Shelton, her family, friends, and fans.

Were you happy with tonight’s results? I know I wish Terry would have taken the title, but I know Cassadee is definitely worthy. Let’s hope she turns out to be as ambitious as Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood and not fall through the cracks like so many other talented singing competition winners usually do.
