Randy Jackson, the last of the original American Idol judges, will no longer be sitting in a judges seat when the singing competition returns in January 2013.
According to a report from TMZ, a source said Jackson will not be a judge but he will not leave Idol for good. Instead, the song writer will serve as a mentor for the contestants.
The website also said that Nicki Minaj is 99 percent done inking a deal to join American Idol. If this is true, it will be interesting to see how she is able to continue her “Pink Friday Reloaded” world tour. The rapper would just be fresh of the European and Australian leg which runs from October to December.
Other high-profile names that may replace Randy Jackson include Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Kanye West.
