Morris Chestnut has landed roles in two upcoming films.
First there is Kick-Ass 2, a movie which will feature an ensemble of superhero misfits that fight crime — similar to The Avengers. The bunch will go head-to-head with The Red Mist, an enemy character who has gathered a team of “supervillains” in order to defeat both Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl. Chestnut will play the guardian of Chloe Moretz’s character, one of the Kick-Ass superheros.
The Think Like a Man actor joins the cast that includes Donald Faison, Aaron Johnson, Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Nicolas Cage and John Leguizamo.
Kick-Ass 2 is due for release in the summer of 2013.
Also for Morris Chestnut’s acting chops, there is The Hive, a movie which will see Chestnut star alongside one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, Halle Berry. Wow, what an attractive duo!
According to Deadline:
He plays her love interest, and a cop, in the film that focuses on a 911 call center: a hub of frenzied activity where desperate phone calls come in. When a call comes in from Hyden (Breslin) a kidnapped teen who is stuffed in a trunk, a veteran operator (Berry) takes the line, using her considerable skills to keep the girl calm, while trying feverishly to find the kidnapper before it’s too late.
The Hive will be directed by Brad Anderson.
