A routine trip to work took an unexpected turn for two Black brothers in Orlando after police stopped them because officers reportedly believed they matched the description of suspects wanted in connection with a shooting.
The encounter, captured in a video that has resurfaced online after being posted by @yellowbpydondon23. It shows one of the brothers questioning officers as they detain him and his sibling. According to the caption, the two men were simply on their way to work when police stopped them.
The man began recording while questioning why officers believed he matched a suspect description.
“Tell me why they got us motherf–king doing nothing, saying I match a description. This s–t crazy,” he said.

The man then questioned how police could identify him as a suspect without additional evidence. He pointed to an officer speaking with a supervisor and asking whether investigators had obtained video of the alleged crime.
“He [the officer] on the phone with a supervisor saying ‘do we have a video yet?’ If we don’t got a video, how do I match the description? Make it make sense,” the man said.
The officer told the brothers that someone had provided a description, but acknowledged that police did not yet have any footage. The man pressed the officer, asking, “And that’s it? You don’t got a second theory?”
The officer defended the decision to investigate before making an arrest.
“We’re not going to just arrest you on somebody telling us, ‘hey, that guy over there did that.’ We’re gonna try to find videos so we can prove it or not, right?” the officer said.
During the encounter, the man questioned why he was being stopped and asked what crime he supposedly matched the description for. The officer identified it as “a shooting,” to which the man replied, “I didn’t hear nothing loud.”
The situation appeared to change as the video continued. The officer instructed the man to sit on the ground and told him he was being detained. The man appeared confused because, according to his account, the same officer who initially stopped him had previously told him he was free to leave.
“The officer who originally stopped me just told me I was free to go. And now he came back over and said, I’m being detained,” he said.
The officer then warned him that refusing to sit could result in handcuffs and a possible resisting arrest charge.
“You better sit down or you’re gonna go in handcuffs and then you’re gonna go for resisting [arrest],” the officer said.
The man questioned the accusation, responding, “I’m resisting? I’m sitting down.” The officer said police were receiving additional information from another officer nearby.
The footage later cuts to police questioning the man’s brother. Frustrated by the encounter, the man can be heard cursing at the officers as they search him.
The video does not establish the outcome of the encounter, whether either brother was ultimately arrested, or whether police determined they were connected to a shooting.
Social media users quickly took to the comment section to weigh in on the encounter, with several people sharing their own experiences with police stops and questioning the officers’ actions.
One commenter recalled being stopped as a teenager after playing in a high school football game.
“I got stopped by the cops when i was 17. i just got finished playing an HS football game they said that i fit the description of a home invader, and i said, ‘What was the description a football [player]?’ cause in was in my jersey and football pants. And that’s when the cop busted my lip.”
Another commenter questioned how the officer could threaten the man with a resisting arrest charge when he had not been arrested, writing, “How can you resist arrest when you’re not under arrest?”
Others pointed to what they viewed as racial profiling, with one person writing, “We don’t all look alike.” Another summarized the experience as “Walking while Black.”
A separate commenter wrote, “Anytime you’re a young brother with locs, you match any and every description.”
Another user questioned the sequence of events shown in the video, particularly the officer’s reference to receiving information from another officer.
“So they are waiting for a description from another police officer in a different area. How far away is the different area? When did a person not wanting to sit down become resisting arrest?” the commenter wrote.
