Georgia Tech Has Wild Social Media Reply To Daughter Of Rival School’s Football Coach

While it is common to see large brands and businesses engage in more casual conversations on social media these days, Georgia Tech’s official X account took it to another level this week.

It all started when Savanah Tujague — the daughter of NC State offensive line coach Garett Tujague — called Georgia Tech an insulting name.

Both universities compete in the ACC.

“My side h— (Georgia Tech) got me out here breaking my own rules….lesson in that,” Savanah wrote in a tweet.

Despite an obvious allegiance to the school where her father is an assistant coach, Georgia Tech was not willing to accept Savanah’s characterization.

“We’re nobody’s side h—,” the official Georgia Tech account replied to Savanah.

Along with many other users on X, the coach’s daughter was shocked that Georgia Tech responded.

“OMG,” Savanah wrote, “my dad coaches football at NC State and so I fear this is my best offer.”

The interaction quickly went viral, and it even reached CNN commentator and author Bakari Sellers.

“Atlanta is not a real place,” Sellers wrote about Georgia Tech’s reply to Savanah.

Fortunately for Savanah, who has built a following on social media by sharing her opinions on various sports, she likely will not have to choose between her “side h—” and her father’s team during the upcoming college football season.

Georgia Tech and NC State are not scheduled to meet during the 2026 regular season. However, the ACC rivals could still cross paths in the conference championship game or the College Football Playoff should both teams advance that far.

Garett Tujague is entering his fourth season on the NC State football staff under longtime head coach Dave Doeren. Savanah is one of Garett’s three children.

NC State finished last season with an 8–5 record, while Georgia Tech posted a 9–4 mark under head coach Brent Key.

Both teams will begin the college football season unranked in the Preseason AP Top 25 Poll, while fellow ACC members Miami (No. 7), SMU (No. 19), and Louisville (No. 24) all made the cut.
