‘I Wouldn’t Pay’: Trump Finds a Shocking New Way to Cash In—He’s Charging Fans Big Bucks Just to Get Close to Him

Donald Trump is once again proving that access to him comes with a price tag.

The president now seems to be putting a price on simply being seen with him. For those willing to pay, even a few minutes in his orbit could come with a jaw-dropping bill.

The eye-popping figure has people wondering just how much face time with Trump is really worth.

The price sounds more like a luxury car after a leaked invitation tied to his upcoming Texas swing was posted on social media.

It’s so steep, some are joking that the package better include more than a handshake, a smile and a photo—and maybe a guarantee that Trump will be awake for it.

‘He’s Not Worth That’: Donald Trump Hit with Backlash After $500K Photo-Op Offer Leaks, Sparks Claims He’s Selling Access to the Presidency

A leaked invite lists tiers that climb from $10,000 all the way up to $443,000 per couple. Somewhere in the middle sits the number that broke the internet: $88,600 for a photo opportunity. Not a meeting. Not a meal. A picture.

Screenshots of the price tags spread fast online, and the reactions came in hot, confused, and occasionally hilarious.

On Threads, one user posted, “Apparently it costs $88k to take a picture with Trump! I’ve seen it all!!!!” Another added, “He can grift like no other. Now that’s what he’s actually good at.”

A third commented didn’t hold back: “I wouldn’t even pay the $600 change beyond the $88K for a photo. If Trump wants a photo with me, I think I would charge him at least $1 billion, and I won’t smile.”

Someone else on the app chimed in with, “Being in the same room let alone taking a picture with Donny Vonshitzhizpantz is a hard NO for me.”

Over on Facebook, one person exclaimed, “I wouldn’t pay 88 cents.”

Still, one social media user tried to put the outrage into perspective, arguing that high-dollar access is hardly unique to Republicans.

“More pathetic, desperate, democrat politician, bullsh-t! Republicans: $88,600 per couple, and you get a picture with the President. Democrats: $88,600 per couple, and apparently you get a receipt,” the person wrote.

The commenter also shared a link pointing to similar high-dollar fundraisers involving the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. It suggested that hefty price tags are simply part of the political fundraising game on both sides of the aisle.

There is some important context behind those eye-popping numbers.

According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), for the 2025–2026 election cycle, an individual can contribute up to $44,300 per calendar year to the main account of a national party committee, including the DNC, RNC, DSCC, NRSC, DCCC or NRCC.

The FEC adjusts federal contribution limits every two years to account for inflation. Here’s the part the flyer actually spells out in giant letters: this isn’t a novelty photo booth.

It’s a joint political fundraiser, hosted by the Republican National Committee, built around federal contribution tiers.

The $10,000 buys a seat in the room and a chance to hear him speak. The $88,600 buys a few seconds in a staged photo line. The $250,000 buys a private roundtable. And $443,000 buys top billing as a host.

Trump is set to headline the event on Aug. 27 in Houston, according to the Houston Chronicle, and is only his second Texas visit since retaking office, compared to 18 stops in the state during his first term.

And this playbook is nothing new for him. During the 2024 campaign, Trump’s fundraising operation ran the same paid-photo model over and over. In Uniondale, New York, a photo ran $30,000 during that cycle.

In Jackson, Wyoming, admission plus a photo cost seven times the base ticket.

In Deal, New Jersey, the photo tier started at $50,000.

Former WNBA team owner Kelly Loeffler hosted a Trump fundraiser in Atlanta in April 2024, where the photo op was $25,000. Loeffler, who formerly represented Georgia in the U.S. Senate, nows heads the Small Business Administration under Trump.

The pattern held steady long before he ever got back to the White House.

Now the price tag has ballooned even further.

A leaked email tied to Erika Kirk’s Turning Point USA blew the quiet part wide open. As previously reported, a $500,000 donation to the group’s PAC bought charter travel, a private headquarters tour, a one-on-one moment with Trump, and — of course — a photo.

Back in 2019, a $15,000 photo op barely made headlines.

In 2025, sponsors paid up to $2 million for Kennedy Center access. Business leaders reportedly shelled out $5 million for a private Mar-a-Lago sit-down, while $1 million candlelight dinners became a MAGA Inc. staple.

Want a picture with the president? That’ll cost you. Democracy, apparently, now comes with a suggested donation — and a payment plan.
