Shannon Bream’s Sunday interview with Attorney General Todd Blanche was over, but President Donald Trump apparently wasn’t ready to let the conversation go.
Instead, he turned to Truth Social and unloaded on the Fox News host, accusing her of unfair coverage, attacking her guests and warning that her ratings could suffer.
By the time Trump finished, the defense of his presidency had stretched into a lengthy list of sweeping claims about the economy, crime, foreign policy and drug prices.

The outburst came after Bream challenged Blanche over an “anti-weaponization” fund pursued on Trump’s behalf and raised Republicans’ political problems heading into the midterms, including voters’ concerns about the cost of living.

Trump Goes Off in Long Truth Social Rant
Trump’s response exposed the growing tension between his claims of historic success and the scrutiny that follows when available evidence challenges those claims.
“Watching FoxNews with Shannon Bream is always like watching the Worst of Fake News CNN. I don’t know Shannon, but she always seems to pick guests, charts, and “polls” that are negative, never talking about all of the incredible things that the Trump Administration has done,” Trump ranted in the post, before rattling off a list of his purported accomplishments.
After all that, he still wasn’t finished.
“Yet, week after week, I see Shannon ‘interviewing’ hostile guests, and having losers like Juan Williams, who got fired like a dog from PBS, was thrown off of The Five for somebody even dumber than him, Jessica Tarlov, and when he saw me walking into the Headquarters of Fox, he went CRAZY, begging me for a picture — ‘Could I have a picture with you?”
“It would be such a Great Honor!’ In any event, Shannon’s ‘show’ is beyond redemption. Fortunately, MAGA, which is close to 100% of the Republican Party, understands that, and watch her ‘Ratings’ start to fall. Chris Wallace was bad, but Shannon is even worse! Oh well, it couldn’t have had too much of an impact, because I’m now heading back into the Oval Office to continue working on more TRIUMPHS and SUCCESSES for our Country!”
Debunking Trump’s Claims
Several of Trump’s claims are difficult to square with the facts, according to recent reporting.
He asserted that drug prices have fallen by more than 500 percent — an impossible claim—but his administration’s efforts to secure lower prices remain incomplete. The administration has persuaded 17 major drugmakers to sign agreements offering lower prices based on what other developed countries pay, while smaller and midsize companies have been less enthusiastic about participating.
The White House has projected $64.3 billion in federal and state savings over 10 years, but the figure is speculative, and states still have until September to decide whether to participate, Reuters reported.
Trump also claimed that the nation’s crime rate has more support, although his characterization goes further than the available data. The FBI reported that the national murder rate fell to 4.1 killings per 100,000 people in 2025, tying 1955 and 1956 for the lowest rate in the agency’s records, according to USA Today.
An independent midyear report also found homicides continuing to decline in 2026.
“This is one of the most significant public safety developments in decades,” said Adam Gelb, the Council on Criminal Justice’s president and CEO. “Homicide has now fallen by more than half since 2022 . . . That means lives saved, families spared trauma, and communities made safer — and it deserves to be celebrated.”
But Gelb also cautioned against rushing to assign political credit for the decline.
“The reasons for the decline are much less clear than the decline itself,” Gelb said. “There will be plenty of competition to claim credit, but the evidence isn’t ready to award a trophy.”
The Truth About Trump’s Economy
Trump’s economic claims also face a more complicated picture. The three major stock indexes have climbed in 2026 and remain near record levels, but this does not support Trump’s claim that the current market is the most successful in history, according to The Motley Fool.
Meanwhile, the labor market has shown signs of weakness. Employers cut 23,000 jobs in July, while revisions erased another 103,000 jobs from May and June, according to the Associated Press. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent, but largely because 264,000 people left the labor force. Economists had expected nearly 100,000 new jobs.
“We can’t really put lipstick on a pig here,’’ said Daniel Zhao, chief economist at the jobs website Glassdoor. ”This is not a great report for July.’’
The White House offered a more positive assessment.
“The Trump industrial resurgence is on schedule,” said White House spokesman Kush Desai. “Manufacturing and factory construction jobs grew again in July even as government payrolls continued to significantly shrink.’’
Trump’s claims about Iran also remain tied to an ongoing conflict rather than a completed victory. His administration has made preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon a central objective. But Iran and the United States ended their 60-day memorandum of understanding Monday further apart than ever, according to The Independent.
Critics Slam Trump
Against that backdrop, Trump’s attack on Bream drew mockery and anger online, with critics focusing less on the president’s individual claims than on the sheer length and tone of his response.
“One day we will look back and be mortified this moronic man-child was our POTUS,” one person wrote on X.
Another said Trump’s response was “expected from entitled little boys.”
One commenter added: “Nothing says “Most Respected Country in the World” like the President rage-posting a novella because a Fox News host showed him a poll he didn’t like. Shannon Bream committed the unforgivable sin of letting reality onto Fox. But don’t worry, after 700 words about ratings, Juan Williams, Jessica Tarlov, Chris Wallace and someone once asking him for a photo, he assures us he’s heading back to the Oval Office to govern.”
Journalist Aaron Rupar highlighted the length of Trump’s post, saying, “when you’re definitely not mad.”
