‘The Elephant in the Room’: Stephen Miller Flies Into a Rage on Fox News — Then His Most Explosive Accusation Backfires Almost Instantly

An irate White House deputy chief of staff, Stephen Miller, worked himself into a lather, ranting and raving about Democrats whom he accused of “defending everything that’s putrid and hateful” in a tantrum that instantly backfired.

It happened Wednesday, during an interview on “The Will Cain Show” on Fox News.

Miller claimed Democrats are fighting President Donald Trump every step of the way on the president’s efforts at dismantling diversity, equity and inclusion policies, known as DEI, in the government and in schools.

An agitated Miller became so upset he started shouting about all the policies he claims the Democrats oppose.

“Everything that President Trump has done, think about this,” Miller demanded. “Everything he’s done to try to dismantle that ideology, the left is taking him to court. Every beautiful thing he wants to build, they want to block. Every mile of the border he wants to secure, they want to stop. Every illegal alien he wants to deport, they want to keep here.”

“They are there defending the sexual abusers,” Miller astonishingly insisted. “They are there defending what’s putrid and hateful.”

Critics accused Miller of gaslighting the Fox News audience after Trump and his Justice Department have spent his first 16 months back in office trying to stop the release of the Epstein files at every turn.

Social media erupted in disbelief, calling out Miller’s accusations and “ignoring the elephant in the room.”

“Pointing that finger at others leaves 3 pointing back at him. Projection pure and simple. Whatever they accuse others of, we can be certain they are doing just that. Miller the pedo protector and apologist,” an X user declared.

“Say stop, but ignoring the elephant in the room,” another agreed.

“You have to believe he is doing this on purpose . . . no one can lack this much self-awareness,” this commenter pointed out.

Another X user turned Miller’s rantings right back on him.

“And that comes out of the mouth of one of the most putrid and hateful people on the planet!”

The controversy over the Epstein files has been following Trump around for more than a year now.

As a candidate, Trump spent years calling for the release of the Epstein files while campaigning for president. He repeatedly promised to release the massive trove of documents and video recordings linked to his old friend and deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein if re-elected.

Once back in office, though, he punted to former Attorney General Pam Bondi. But when Bondi looked at the files and saw Trump’s name mentioned more than 4,500 times, she backpedaled.

First, she said the case was closed and that there was nothing to see, but when that sparked a fresh firestorm, she released a few select items from the files.

That didn’t help matters, and two lawmakers, Republican Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Democrat Ro Khanna of California, sponsored legislation to force the release of the files.

Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which required the release of all the files late last year, basically forcing Trump to sign it into law, which he did.

The law required the DOJ to release all the files by Dec. 19, but it did not. It spent several months redacting as much of the information as it could, conveniently releasing victims’ names while protecting the alleged offenders.

An independent journalist has sued over the DOJ’s redaction process and withholding of certain files. The lawsuit is moving through the courts.
