La La Anthony’s acting résumé continues to grow more every day. The actress took to Instagram and introduced her new character, Markaisha, from hit show “BMF” as fans gear up for its second season.
Anthony rocked large eyeglasses and gold triangular earrings as she sucked on a lollipop while speaking unto her camera to announce this new acting gig.
“I wanna introduce Markaisha from ‘BMF.’ This is her with the lollipop, season two, coming soon.”
The 41-year-old captioned her video, “This is going to be a wild ride… introducing Markaisha from #BMF [lollipop emoji] Season 2 this January on Starz @bmfstarz who’s ready?!!”
Anthony’s video received over 1 million plays as well as over 1,000 comments filled with highly anticipated fans.
“Let’s gooo!”
“BMF is going crazy with the marketing!”
Some fans even noticed a certain name similarity between Markaisha and her former character’s name, LaKeisha, in the hit TV show “Power.”
“Ok Keisha died and got reborn as Markaisha [laughing emoji]”
“Another Keisha name, you ain’t gonna die is you? I’m still mad at Tasha.”
“Keisha again? Lol”
Anthony starred as LaKeisha Grant on 50 Cent’s popular show “Power” for six seasons before getting killed off by her on-screen bestie, Tasha St. Patrick, portrayed by Naturi Naughton.
In a podcast interview with “Power Book II: Ghost” actors Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo, Anthony opened up about how she overcame personalizing 50 Cent’s idea in killing off her beloved character.
“I had to learn how to separate the two,” She confessed. “I came to peace with it and it all works out.”
It definitely worked out in Anthony’s favor, for she has remained booked and busy with numerous acting jobs such as “The Chi,” “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” and now “BMF’ which is executively produced by her dearest friend 50 Cent.
“BMF” and “Power” are just two of many projects Anthony and 50 Cent have collaborated on together.
In 2021, there was talk about 50 Cent and Anthony working together on a new project about the life of Cyntoia Brown, the now-34-year-old who was sentenced to life in prison as a teenager after being found guilty of first-degree murder, felony murder, and aggravated robbery in an incident. Brown’s case eventually attracted the attention of advocates who waged an ultimately successful fight to free her, arguing that she was a sex trafficking victim when she was killed and robbed a John at age 16.
While the project never had the opportunity to be released, 50 Cent and Anthony continue to work together for different business ventures.
