Acting legends Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance are able to say that they have been married for a quarter-century!
The influential couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family, and even gave fans the pleasure of witnessing a glimpse of their joyous festivities in an Instagram video.
“25 years… When we first got married, we couldn’t wait to say we made it to 10 years! Now look at how far we’ve come!”
Their caption continued with, “As Frankie says, ‘Joy and pain are like sunshine and rain’ Whew! He sure was right! We’ve had ups, we’ve had downs; we gained two amazing children; but lost cherished family members and friends…
“We’ve had successes, we’ve had failures; we’ve had spectacular wins, we’ve had devastating loses… But through it all there’s been one, beautiful constant: We’ve always had each other!”
Ending their note of appreciation for each other, the couple closed the caption with, “Thank you God for each and everyone of these 25 years! We can’t wait to do 25 more! 10/12/1997 [lock emoji] [red heart emoji].”
Many fans gushed over the couple’s heartfelt post and video as well as noted how beautiful it is to see a beloved black couple still standing strong following a few divorce announcements that were made by other notable faces at the beginning of October.

The first week of October was a busy week for divorce lawyers.
In an Instagram post that has now reached over one million likes, actress Tia Mowry revealed that she and husband Cory Hardrict have decided to go their separate ways after 22 years together, 14 of those in marriage, due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Just as fans were picking up their broken hearts, news broke surrounding model Nazanin Mandi filing for divorce against her husband, “Sure Thing” singer Miguel, citing “irreconcilable differences” as her reasoning as well after 18 years together, according to People Magazine.
Although love doesn’t always lead to happily ever after, Bassett and Vance have touched fans’ hearts with their sweet anniversary message.
