Loyal Burger King Employee Turns Down Multiple Job Offers as Requests Pour In Across the Country After Viral Anniversary Gift

A man who went viral after posting a video of his 27th-anniversary gift bag from his co-workers in a Burger King located in a Las Vegas airport has plenty of options if he decides on a career move. Following news about his faithfulness as a worker — he has never missed one day of work — and integrity as a father became public, companies from across the country have offered him a place within their businesses.

Kevin Ford, a cashier and cook at the popular fast-food chain, says while he has been extended invitations to work for a company that restores cars, most of the offers have been with other establishments in the restaurant and hospitality industries, according to TMZ.

The manager at one restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina, over 2,258 miles away, reached out to the 54-year-old, saying it would be an honor to serve alongside someone like Ford. Another beachside restaurant, that specialized in “unbeatable” tacos, offered him a job where every day he could take breaks near the ocean.

Despite the excitement of new employment, he turned them all down. He says he has no desire to leave his current job. One reason why he doesn’t want to leave is for fear it might disrupt his pension, family’s health insurance or other retirement benefits.

His daughter Seryna wrote in a GoFundMe campaign, that is now close to a quarter-million dollars, “My dad continues to work here because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age, and leaving would cost him his retirement.”

Now, with his newfound supporters donating over $233,000 to him on the crowdfunding site, his retirement may not be as great of a concern for the man whose biggest worry is about the stability of his family. According to his daughter, Ford has sacrificed to provide for his wife and four daughters, even sending all of the girls through college.

Jobs and money are not the only things that are being tossed his way.

One woman has offered to help him update his resume, just in case he gets the itch to start a second career.

Possibly eyeing all the money that has been donated, multiple real estate agencies have offered to help him spend it by offering to help him buy a new home. In an effort to best those agents, one real estate company has offered to give up half of their commission if he chooses to go with them.

No word on if Ford will be purchasing a new home.
