Naomi Campbell Gives Fans a Glimpse of Her Daughter Modeling Versace In Tribute to Dead Designer

Naomi Campbell paid tribute to her slain friend fashion designer Gianni Versace on July 15 by sharing a cropped photo of an infant — presumably the daughter she announced had come into her life in May — sporting a colorful Versace onesie. Campbell’s initial upload, which depicted the baby from the neck down, was one of two posts mourning the loss of the fashion icon on the 24th anniversary of Versace’s murder.

The founder of the luxury brand was gunned down outside of his Miami mansion in 1997 by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Following his murder, his younger sister Donatella Versace took over the fashion company and is currently chief creative officer.

Campbell captioned her daughter’s initial snapshot, “I love you, Gianni Versace,” alongside five emojis, including four doves and a single red heart.

The supermodel’s second tribute included a compilation of clips of the fashion designer and Campbell walking past Versace runway shows. The 51-year-old described how much she missed her dear friend by writing, “I MISS YOU GIANNI VERSACE, YOUR INTUITION AND ACTIONS AHEAD OF IT’S TIME. YOUR WORK ETHIC TO BE ADMIRED AND YOUR AUTHENTIC EMBRACE GENEROSITY AND BEAUTIFUL HEART ADORED. #RIP #24YEARS #NEVERFORGOTTEN ❤️❤️🙏🏾.”

Versace’s sister Donatella also paid tribute to the designer by sharing two black and white images of the pair. She wrote, “We always made each other smile. Gianni, I miss you every day Gianni Versace, December 2 1946- July 15 1997.”

Campbell’s rare post about her daughter — whose name, age, form of conception, and father have yet to be revealed — comes two months after the model announced on her Instagram page that she was a new mother at 50 years old. Sharing an image of a pair of hands that presumably were hers cradling the infant’s feet, Campbell’s caption said, “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.”
