‘Moral of the Story, Tell the Truth’: DaBaby’s Fans Praise the Rapper for Giving Two Kids a Lesson In Honesty After They Tried to Hustle Him

DaBaby taught two unidentified boys a lesson in … something on July 11 after they tried to charge the 29-year-old for box of candy they were selling. The boys were vending packs of Skittles for $2 and Fruit Gushers for $1 each.

DaBaby — who was traveling around New York City following his appearance at the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) awards this past weekend — took to his Instagram Story to recollect the encounter. In the clips, the “Rockstar” emcee is seen discussing the purpose behind the sale when one of the boys stated it was for an unspecified “donation.” As the video continued, DaBaby then asked, “How much you want for the box?”

The other boy dressed in a blue hoodie said, “about $200.” Following that response, the “Vibez” lyricist then questioned the unnamed kids by saying, “You made $400 off that, and you sell them for $2?” He even asked them the number of candies sold per pack, which one boy confirmed was 34 individual pieces.

In addition to asking them the amount of candies sold per pack, DaBaby even calculated “34 times 2” and came up to the conclusion that “it ain’t $200.” The video then ends with the rapper only purchasing one pack of skittles and two packs of Fruit Gushers from the boys for the total price of $4.

When the rapper’s video started circulating on social media, many viewers praised DaBaby’s attempt at teaching the young boys a valuable lesson in hustling.

“Nah he would’ve gave the bread.. this was a lesson in principle‼️‼️‼️‼️ only certain people will understand…”

“Trust me he taught them a VALUABLE lesson.”

“Perhaps homie would’ve told the truth.. he would’ve gotten more. Moral of the Story, tell the TRUTH!”

“That’s sad. This exactly how we are as people. Once we find out somebody has money we overcharge instead of just being honest.”

“It’s about the lesson learned DONT TRY TO GET OVER ON PEOPLE WHEN YOU BE HONEST YOU GET MORE IN THE LONG RUN .. you can tell he was raised old fashioned and we need to see more of this .. GET OUT AND WORK FOR IT don’t nothing come easy.”
