When Adrienne Banfield-Norris is not offering up her sage perspective on life on “Red Table Talk,” or giving her daughter Jada Pinkett Smith a run for her money in the looks department, she is apparently busy prank calling family members.
The ever-youthful 67-year-old is the latest public figure to join in on the fun of video-calling friends and family only to tell them “I’m busy; I’ll call you back later.”Β
“Gammy,” as her family calls her, chose her daughter’s friend turned family, Mia Pitts, as her first victim. Just as the actress answered the call Norris said, “Oh my goodness; I’m gonna have to call you back.” Pitts stared into the camera and asked “why?” Norris responded with: “I’m just going to have to call you back” as her finger hovered over the ‘end call’ button.
Up next was her husband Rodney, but he never answered. “He’s probably back there playing a doggone game. Get off the game, joker,” she said in between laughter and smiles.
Not quite satisfied with her 1-1 score she moved, on to Willow Smith who enthusiastically picked up. Norris hastily hit the 20-year-old with a “Oh I gotta call you back, I gotta call you back, I can’t talk right now,” and proceeded to fumble around her screen attempting to end the call.
Last on her list was Jaden, who took his time picking up the call. His grandmother’s “Oh I can’t talk right now” and failed attempt to quickly end the call had the 22-year-old in stitches from laughing. But he wasn’t the only one. Fans watching the video were equally humored.
“Itβs when she struggles to end the call πππ Gammy we love yoβ beautiful tail self πππ”
“She’s struggling to end the call got me ππ”
“It’s Jaden’s laugh for me πππππ”
Similarly, actor Jay Ellis tried to pull the same stunt on his “Insecure” cast members, but only one person answered: Issa Rae.
