Floyd Mayweather got tongues wagging when fans noticed he recently upped his hairline game.
The retired professional boxer looked noticeably different in photos, showing off a clean cut fade and lined-up facial hair, a much different look from his signature bald head.
The 43-year-old Mayweather Promotions boss appears to be taking the saying “New Year, new me” pretty literally after debuting his look.
In addition to sprouting roots, Mayweather has also been keeping himself occupied by spending time with his new grandson, Kentrell Gaulden Jr., whom his daughter Yaya shares with ex-boyfriend, rapper NBA YoungBoy (born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden).
Yaya posted two sweet images of her dad holding her son on Jan. 24 along with the captions, “Papa came to support him at first photoshoot,” and “Watching football with Papa.”
The TMT lifestyle brand founder is also busy preparing for an exhibition match scheduled for Feb. 20 against YouTuber, internet personality, and boxer Logan Paul. The fight is reportedly being postponed, however, with Paul recently explaining that they’re taking the time to make sure all conditions are met for the match to be a success.
“I’ll say this – the complications are when you are dealing with someone like Floyd Mayweather who is the most desired, highest-paid fighter on the planet and he operates at a certain caliber, and the people around him want to make sure their talent, their fighter is performing at a certain level, there are a lot hoops to jump through,” he explained during an appearance on The Night Shift Gaming‘s Twitch channel.
“We’re just making sure we’re doing that,” he continued. “But yeah, I’m still going to beat the s*** out of Floyd Mayweather…Or, maybe he’s going to beat the s*** out of me, who knows? The point is it’s still going to happen.”
Fans applauded Mayweather for stepping his grooming game up, which they agreed took years off of him, although some wondered whether his new hair was au natural.
