The actor also provided a little more information surrounding the situation. “pray for my boy @jeremih he’s not doing good this covid shit is real 🙏🏿 he’s in ICU in Chicago,” the Queens, New York rapper captioned the post. The “21 Questions” rapper later tweeted an update on his friend, saying, “Thank you for praying for my boy Jeremih he is responsive today, doing a little better.”

One Twitter user wrote, “Please take Covid seriously….even if you are young. It does not discriminate and affects all Americans.” They added, “Mask up abs wash your hands often. May the Heavenly Father rest his healing hands upon Jeremih in his hour of need and restore strength to his weakened body.”

Jeremih made his breakthrough in 2009 following the release of his debut single “Birthday Sex.” The track peaked at number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

Representatives for the star have yet to speak out publicly on his health. Jeremih is the latest celebrity to contract the deadly illness, including Erykah Badu and Fred Hammond. They both recently revealed over the weekend that they too tested positive for the virus. As of late, the novel coronavirus has already killed over 246,000 people in the U.S. alone, according to data from The New York Times.
