‘Hope You Didn’t Follow Your Dad’: Reginae Carter’s Voting Post Goes Left When Fans Bring Up Dad Lil Wayne’s Political Stance

Reginae Carter made her voice heard by voting in this year’s U.S. presidential election, but unfortunately for her, fans also made their voices heard by flooding her comments asking whether she shares the same controversial political views as her father, rapper Lil Wayne, who has expressed that he’s supporting President Donald Trump.

The 21-year-old reality TV star proudly showed off her Georgia voting sticker on Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 3, while also encouraging her fans to “Go vote!!!.” The Savage X Fenty ambassador made her way to the polls in the wee hours of the morning and shared Instagram Stories videos in which she’s seen waiting to cast her ballot, as well as immediately afterward with her “I’m a Georgia Voter” sticker. She proudly announced, “I look a mess, but I voted.”

Although many did commend her for doing her civic duty, the majority of the conversation turned to whether she voted for President Trump, whom her father publicly endorsed just last week.

After meeting with the incumbent president to discuss his “Platinum Plan” for Black America, the Young Money boss felt the full force of Black Twitter when he tweeted a photo of himself and Trump both giving a thumbs-up to the camera, along with a caption supporting the president and his plan. “Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership,” he tweeted. “He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

Reginae’s mother, Toya Johnson, on the other hand, has been vocal about her support for Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris, sharing memes and information on her social media pages in favor of the candidates.

Reginae eventually revealed who she voted for in her Instagram story, however fans who may not have saw her story wanted to know if she was a supporter of Trump like her father or a supporter of Biden like her mother.

“Dont be like your daddy Nae!”

“I hope you followed your moms steps not your dad 🥺”

“With your Dad or your own interests? My gut tells me you ridin with Biden.”

“Hope you didn’t follow your dad 👎🏾😳😔 #biden2020”

“You a trump supporter too??? 🤔🤔”

Although Reginae has yet to address her father’s stance on Trump, she’s shown that she doesn’t always support his views. After Wayne appeared to agree with 50 Cent’s comments praising “exotic” women while dismissing Black women as “angry” during his “Young Money Radio” podcast, Reginae seemingly responded to their comments with a tweet that read, “I’m black! I’m beautiful! I’m enough! I’m exotic! I’m amazing! I’m one of a mf kind !!!! Now where my black beautiful Queens at?”
