Finally, some positive news coming out of the “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” camp. Charmaine Walker recently had some encouraging words of wisdom for fellow new moms out there.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, the 31-year-old took to her Instagram page with a short video of herself working out in her newly built home gym. Charmaine welcomed her daughter Nola Glenda Bey, whom she shares with husband Neek Bey, on Saturday, March 16. This is the couple’s first child together.
The reality star, decked out in athleisure wear, showed off her efforts at doing various exercises, including squats, hip lifts, donkey kicks, and more. “I’m not one of those hot IG models working out but I am a mom who had her baby in quarantine and until more recently I felt like I had my new duty as a mom down packed!” the reality star began her lengthy post. She continued, “While quarantining was still weighing heavy over my head I put a gym in my home thinking that was going to fix my problem but it didn’t! So I went the extra mile and got a trainer in a private gym during these tough times!”
Charmaine revealed in a December 2019 Instagram post that she was expecting. At the time she said that her mother, Glenda Walker, who had passed away in October from a heart attack, was “excited” about the pregnancy.
The television personality concluded her heartfelt message by saying “I’m encouraging all moms in my position to figure out what works best for you but remember to put your health first❤️ #firsttimemom.”
The post received over 44,400 likes from supporters, many who praised the reality star on her transparency and compassionate message. Many of Charmaine’s fans shared a lot of their own struggles with post-pregnancy, including one person who wrote, “I’m 3 months out and been feeling lousy bigger than pre pre pregnancy and not beautiful at all, I have kids they are all 2 1/2 years apart feels like I lose a piece of myself each pregnancy.”
The woman added, “This was my last baby so hopefully I find the strength and time to take care of myself so please keep posting yourself in this process because it’s nothing like a real body changing❤️.”
Another person commented, “I’m with u on this we had our kids weeks apart and it’s so hard to get back in shape with this quarantine mess and virtual learning with my oldest😢.”
