‘Melanin Goddess’: Masika Kalysha Shares Luminous New Photos, Fans Catch Their Breath at Her Beauty

Masika Kalysha‘s fans were admiring her radiant beauty after the singer posted several photos to Instagram Monday evening.

The television personality was in Beverly Hills, California, during the shoot, which saw Masika sporting a denim sleeveless cropped top, a ripped denim skirt, and white sneakers. The model also used a variety of sultry poses to capture her followers’ attention.

Many said their favorite one was the last photo, where Masika is standing in profile with one leg in front of the other and her hand gently placed on her thigh as she gazes into the camera. The former “Double Cross” actress captioned the Oct. 19 post, “Melanin goddess β˜€οΈ.”

This mother of one seems to enjoy showing off her statuesque figure in denim. Just this past August the model was seen rocking the Canadian tuxedo β€” a term that originated from a 1951 incident where American singer Bing Crosby was denied access to an upscale hotel in Vancouver, Canada, because he was considered underdressed in all denim β€” with a high-braided ponytail and neutral makeup. The 35-year-old captioned the Aug. 27 pic with an emoji of a black queen, and the post racked up more than 29,000 likes. The rapper also wore an all-denim outfit back in 2019 with a burgundy hat while out and about with her now-4-year-old daughter Khari Barbie Maxwell, whom she shares with “679” rapper Fetty Wap.

The entrepreneur captioned the August 2019 post, “Touch a hair on her head end up dead. #GangsterMom πŸ˜‚ Born and raised in #Chicago don’t let this bougie life fool you πŸ˜‚.”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual β€” and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
