Kandi Burruss and a few of her friends recently celebrated her husband Todd Tucker‘s birthday! On the night of Wednesday, Aug. 5, the reality star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” threw her hubby a fun party at the Bowlmor in Atlanta, but the guests weren’t necessarily bowling. Aside from the birthday boy, the true stars of the event were the strippers Kandi hired to perform in glass boxes.
The “Xscape” alum shared a video in a now-deleted Instagram Story of an exotic dancer shaking her derrière in the box. “When you want to have dancers, but you want to have it COVID-free,” she said. Todd and Kandi also made sure to take extra safety precautions by requiring the guests to wear masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Kandi doesn’t seem to be letting the pandemic ruin any of their special days. When she celebrated her 44th birthday in May with a “Mask-On” themed bash, she proved that statement to be true. Some people disapproved of the gathering and claimed that the mother of three and her friends were breaking social distancing guidelines.
The singer and songwriter addressed the backlash in a May 24 Instagram Live chat with Loni Love, where she revealed that Todd threw her the bash. “Well, here’s the thing: I didn’t even plan the party. It was a surprise party. And I know that my husband’s intentions were good. That’s why it was called ‘Mask On.’ Everyone was supposed to keep their masks on,” she said.
The pair first met on the set of “RHOA” during season 4 while they were both in South Africa filming. Todd was a line producer on the show before appearing on the series in 2011. The couple tied the knot in 2014, and Kandi gave birth to their son Ace Wells Tucker in 2016. They welcomed their daughter Blaze Tucker via surrogate in November.
Both Kandi and Todd have daughters from previous relationships.
