Draya Michele’s Recent Beauty Post Has Fans Calling Her a ‘Young Sade’

If you ask fans, they will tell you that Draya Michele‘s latest beauty post made them do a double take. On Sunday, Aug. 2, some people claimed that Draya favored singer and songwriter Sade, after the former “Basketball Wives” cast member shared an image on Instagram that showed her sitting pretty on a wooden chair.

Surrounded by flowers, the 35-year-old reality star looked refreshed with a minimal makeup look and her hair pulled back. Draya wore a white tank top and shorts with sneakers. She completed her ensemble with white tennis shoes, a gold bangle and gold hoop earrings. True to form, the mother of two struck her pose by smizing at the camera.

People instantly gravitated toward the image and raved over Draya and Sade’s similarities. “You look like Sade in this picture❀️,” one user gushed. A second fan wrote underneath the image: “Sade?🀨… you look like her in this pic😊,” while somebody else mentioned: “πŸ”₯ Okay I see you YOUNG SADEπŸ”₯.”

Draya rose to fame in 2011 when she made her splash on “BBW,” but the founder of Mint Swimwear has a few hidden talents. Just like Sade, Draya has a passion for music. The Pennsylvania native wanted to be a singer when she was a child, but decided to pursue a modeling career after she failed to break into the music industry. Draya suggested in a 2014 interview with US Weekly that she has good vocals. “I could totally sing backup for Alicia Keys,” she said.

Draya and the 61-year-old “No Ordinary Love” artist and Draya also share a love for acting. Draya’s journey to the big screen didn’t seem to come so easily since she wasn’t considered to be a household name around the time she was trying for movie roles. “There are times where I do feel boxed in because I’ve done reality TV,” she explained in a 2016 interview with Forbes.”Honestly, I need to feel boxed in because that is the one thing that wakes me up in the morning and motivates me and drives me to work ten times harder.”
