The ’30s may be long gone, but the fashion from that decade still lives on today. This year, Tia Mowry-Hardrict and her husband Cory Hardrict proved that throwing it back to the olden days is neither dated nor misguided when the 42-year-old actress shared a photo on Instagram that showed her and Cory wearing ’30s-inspired fashion during their date night.
In the Sunday, July 26 image, the mother of two looks classy in her black-patterned dress that contains a swooped neckline. Tia wore her hair in a short curly hairstyle and tied her outfit together with a pair of black and pink pumps. The Germany native opted for a natural glam appearance, sporting a brown lipstick with neutral-toned eyeshadow. Sitting in a chair while her husband stood, Tia struck her pose by reading a menu and holding what seemed to be a glass filled with a dark-colored alcoholic beverage.
Cory color-coordinated his outfit with his wife, rocking a black shirt with white stripes and a pair of black slacks. He accessorized his attire with a tan fedora hat and black loafers. The 40-year-old Chicago native posed for the shot by also reading the menu and holding a drink in a glass.
Tia received numerous compliments from fans about their outfits. One user gushed: “Love the theme night! Your dress is so cute.đ.” Someone else wrote underneath the image: “This is how a grown man should dress.” But others threw out the idea that Tia and Cory favored the characters from Tia’s 2000 comedy drama “Seventeen Again.” Comments like “Seventeen Again vibes in this picture” and “Seventeen Again needs a rebootđ” were also written underneath the photo.
“Seventeen Again” stars Tia, her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housley, and their brother Tahj Mowry. The film follows the life of Sydney Donovan (Tia), a 17-year-old high school student whose grandmother (Tamera) and grandfather (Mark Taylor) are transformed into teenagers after Sydney’s brother Willie Donovan (Tahj) performs a lab experiment that goes wrong.
Tia opened up about working on the project in a July 16 Instagram post, sharing that she loved filming the movie with her siblings and revealing that she knew Cory around the time they were shooting.
