Angela Simmons claims she’s an au naturel beauty, although some fans aren’t buying it.
The “Growing Up Hip Hop” star flaunted an ostensibly makeup-free appearance and natural curls on social media this week. She took to Instagram on Monday, July 13, and posted a video of herself embracing what she described as her complete natural beauty.
“Oooo she natural natural today . No make up . No extensions,” Simmons wrote. She said she only had hydrating oil on her skin.
The reality star panned the camera around her face and coils. A few Instagram users commented on how beautiful Simmons looked.
“Looking good as always 😍 your skin is flawless,” a fan wrote. Another quipped, “Just how we like em___Can’t be cake up all the time❤️.”
One person remarked, “Natural beauty and fine as hell with no accessories ❤️🏁💨 #daughterofthehighestgod.”
Others pointed out that Simmons seemed to be using a social media video filter to hide her imperfections.
“And a little snapchat filter 😂,” said one person. Someone else agreed and wrote, “You gotta whole filter on dat flat face that aint natural we are seeing.”
“Be real sis you got on lashes & filter but you cute 😘 tho,” another commented.
Despite what critics or fans believe, Simmons is adamant about maintaining her overall appearance.
She told BET in a 2017 interview that she washes her face every night as part of her beauty routine. As for her natural hair, Simmons said she keeps it braided up and conditioned underneath her wigs to protect it from breakage. She also said it was important to do “treatments and all that stuff to your hair.”
As of late, the single mother of one has been focused on her new skin care line, Simmons Beauty.
She told Page Six in May that she’s been doing a lot of “facials and detox stuff” amid her self-quarantine. Simmons said she’s taken her beauty regimen in her own hands amid the pandemic instead of relying on her glam team.
“I’m not letting anyone in my house, so I’ve been doing everything myself,” the “GUHH” star said. “It’s hard, but we’re not going anywhere, so what’s the point? But I do miss my glam squad.”
