Masika Kalysha is setting social media on fire with her latest music video.
The former “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” star released her song “Cappin” last week and premiered the music video on Wednesday, June 17, on World Star Hip Hop. She took to Instagram and showcased a clip of the music project that fans described as “hot.”
Kalysha’s video appeared to be inspired by the 1995 classic film “Friday.” The celeb apparently took on the role of Ms. Parker, wearing Daisy Duke shorts, a plaid crop top, and a pair of flats. In the video, she mimicked watering plants from a garden hose while bending over provocatively, recreating a scene from the movie.
The 32-year-old mother wrote in her caption, “Heeeyyyy Ms.Parker #cappin out now on all platforms link in highlights #tiktok #tiktokdance ok #triller #trillervids #masikakalysha #masika #kalysha #mk #cappin #KhariBarbie #KhariBarbieBeauty #cap #cappinchallenge.”
A large majority of Instagram users praised Kalysha’s latest project.
“Not only was this a cute a– video ❤️ !!! the song is 🔥🔥🔥 asf ‼️ you did that Masika ❤️,” a user said. “This s–t bang so hard sis 🔥You betta be a BOSS!” another fan commented.
Although the compliments continued to come in, there were a few fans who disliked the video and song. “Wish i was fetty so i couldn’t have watched it,” said another IG user. Someone else added, “She need to have several seats. Who gone tell her.”
Kalysha was known for her feisty personality on “LHHH.”
She left the show in February 2018 and decided to focus on her music career. Kalysha told Jagurl TV in January that she’s trying to make the transition from reality television into being an artist and actress.
“You know I learned so much being on television and being an artist as well as an actress; and trying to make that transition there’s so many things that you don’t know that nobody tells you that are industry secrets. And I’m bridging the gap between undiscovered artists and, I guess, fans,” said Kalysha.
She continued, “So me and my team have come up with something very lucrative and very interesting that’s going to help independent artists, and I’ll be making that announcement in a couple months. We want everything together, but before that my single ‘Cappin’ will be out very soon.”
