Todd Tucker is getting real with his son Ace Wells Tucker about the harsh reality of police brutality. On Tuesday, June 9, the cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” posted an old photo on Instagram that showed the 4-year-old Ace dressed up as a policeman for career day.
Todd wrote, “I haven’t been very vocal lately as my heart has been hurting. My son was a police officer for his career day last year. We were watching the news and he asked me ‘the police are bad guys?’ With a puzzled look.”
“It was so hard explaining to him that the police can also be the bad guys. He was so confused. And I’m still working on explaining to him the horrific acts of the police. We must have honest conversations with our children and prepare them,” he concluded.
Over 20,000 people gravitated to the image and expressed the idea that the conversation was heartbreaking.
“Damn that’s crazy kids look at cops as officer friendly and boom reality hit and they find out the truth 😪.
“It’s sad that a conversation even has to be had.”
“He’s so young poor baby. They can’t understand this nonsense.”
“How do you explain this to an innocent lil kid? So sad…😢 Man the world we living in today… Smh… Bless us All…. 🙏🏾.”
“Awe ace, you can set the example of how police officers should conduct themselves! Show them how it’s done! 😍.”
“@todd167 and that’s the scary thing…as parents we should not have to…BLM.”
“Absolutely….I’m so sad he had to see this reality at such a young age..”
The former “RHOA” television producer and his wife Kandi Burruss are Ace’s parents. The couple got married in 2014, and Kandi gave birth to Ace in 2016 after undergoing multiple in-vitro fertilization procedures. The singer-songwriter struggled to get pregnant the third time around, so she and Todd pursued surrogacy. In 2019, their daughter Blaze Tucker was born. Both Kandi and Todd have daughters from previous relationships.
