‘Open Your Eyes Baby’: ‘GUHH’ Star Egypt Criss Defends Her Decision Not to Include Tee Tee and Briana in Wedding

Growing Up Hip-Hop cast member Egypt Criss is preparing to say “I do” to her fiancé, artist Sammattick, and while her parents, hip-hop legends Sandra “Pepa” Denton and Anthony “Treach” Criss, seem to be on board with the nuptials, the same can’t be said for some of her fellow castmates and fans.

The latest season of the show has been following 21-year-old Egypt and Sam’s relationship as they attempt to make their way down the aisle, in spite of all of the concerns raised by her cousin Tahira ‘Tee Tee’ Francis and frenemy Briana Latrise. Egypt isn’t letting anyone stop her show, however, and has continued planning her wedding, excluding both from her big day.

“I have my bridesmaids all set up,” the singer told TooFab during a recent interview. “I was trying to make Tee Tee a bridesmaid, but — ya know — all of my bridesmaids have to like my soon-to-be husband.”

Although Tee Tee won’t be included in Egypt and Sam’s wedding party, there’s still hope for the cousins to make amends. “Family is family is family no matter what,” Egypt said about their current rift. “I’m the type, I don’t even care what you do, I’m like, ‘I’m always going to be here when you’re ready to be cool, I’m totally here.’ “

Throughout their time on the reality show, fans also haven’t been shy about sharing their dislike of Sam for Egypt.

“Open your eyes baby girl.. wake up…,” wrote one follower.

“I wish you could see how narcissistic he is smh… 😓”said a second. “Hopefully soon.”

“He’s really not the one, I’m so sorry 😞,” a third lamented.

“Baby girl don’t do it reconsider read some literature you sure on this subject you sure???”

“He don’t even look right..he look strange”

As far as Briana is concerned, Egypt feels like she put the nail in the coffin of their friendship when she questioned their entire relationship and caused a scene during their engagement party. “Well, she kind of decided she didn’t want to be a part of the family by her actions,” she said.
