‘Being a Wife’: Serena Williams Says She’s Going Into Solitude for a While Because of the Coronavirus

Serena Williams said she’ll just be spending time with her husband and daughter for the next month and a half because of the coronavirus.

It’s something that Williams announced on Friday, March 13, on Instagram. She also advised people to take care of themselves and said the pandemic is nothing to take lightly.

“Spending the next 6 weeks in solitude,” wrote Williams next to a clip that showed her makeup being applied. “Being a wife. Being a mom. Cooking. Cleaning. Spring cleaning. Face mask. Makeup tutorials. I’ll let you know how it goes…. stay safe everyone. This is serious. 🙏🏿.”

There were over 3,000 comments left under the post, and many told Williams that she was doing the right thing by lying low with her husband Alexis Ohanian and their 2-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

“Yes darling! It’s very contagious. Less contacts. Less chances of infection,” ❤️” wrote one of her Instagram followers.

There were also some who thanked Williams for posting her message and said they intended to follow her lead.

“I will be doing the same except spending hours upon hours watching highlights of your matches on YouTube (which I’ve already seen 3x over 😂). Enjoy the extra time with Olympia, 👑,” one person wrote.

“Inspirational!!! Mom, Wife, Athlete and Business Woman 👍,” another comment read.

Besides the reactions to Williams saying she’s going into solitude, there were many who commented on her makeup being applied and how she looked.

“Your so so so Beautiful 💯 Inside and outwardly as well. Super Mom Super wife and our Super Hero, 🔥” one person let her know.

“Just gorgeous ! Beyond gorgeous ! Love Serena !” another stated.
