Rapper Birdman brought in his 51st birthday on Feb. 15. Stars across the globe showered the artist with love by wishing him a Happy Birthday on their social media pages, but one particular “Happy Birthday” post stood out the most to fans.
Trina Braxton shocked fans when she wished the rapper a happy birthday on her Instagram page and referred to the artist as her brother-in-law. She captioned the famous photo with, “Happy Birthday B.I.L.”
Fans flooded the reality star’s IG page with questions regarding the status of Birdman’s relationship to her sister, Toni Braxton.
One user asked Braxton, “Oh they back?”
“Did Birdman and Toni secretly get married and not tell anybody,” asked a Braxton fan.
A third user asked, “When will he officially be B.I.L? Cause Lawd we waiting!! 😩😂😂😂”
Toni and Birdman originally met in the early 2000s after Birdman featured Braxton in his hit song “Baby You Can Do It.” While the two were friends for a long time, they confirmed their relationship at the 2016 BET Awards.
In February 2018, the rapper proposed to Braxton with a $1 million engagement ring. Braxton made headlines a few months later after her engagement ring was allegedly stolen. The “living legend” left a piece of her Louis Vuitton luggage on a Delta airplane when she was traveling from New York to Los Angeles. When she retrieved her bag from the airline, her diamond-cut ring was missing.
The star took to Twitter and said, “Hey everyone, @delta located my LV Train Case! Yay! Unfortunately most of my jewelry items are missing…including MY ENGAGEMENT RING! Whoever BORROWED it…PLEEEASE return it!!!! I promise, no questions asked!”
The singer originally took her ring off because her fingers swelled up due to her Lupus disease. The R&B artist went to court on July 11, 2019, to testify that her ring was stolen. According to TMZ, a guy who worked for the airplane cleaning service allegedly went through her bag and stole her ring, along with four expensive watches and earrings.
The singer still has not found her engagement ring. However, rumors swirled the couple broke up months after the incident. Braxton shut down the rumors in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight.
The reality star said, “We don’t know what happened.” In regards to the rumors pertaining the split, she said, “It just kind of came out of nowhere. Someone said it and we were like, ‘OK, we’ll just ride with it because it’ll give us some privacy.’ So that’s good. But we’re good.”
The couple appear to be going strong, but fans still question whether or not they already have raced down the aisle.
