Built Not Bought founder Angela Simmons is getting called on the carpet for using a photo-editing filter in what fans deemed an effort to mask her true appearance.
Simmons took to Instagram on Thursday and shared a picture of herself from the shoulders up. The somewhat grainy image captured the star’s beauty, although she was clearly using a filter.

She gazed vacantly into the camera for a selfie and wrote in her caption, “Morning ♥️😊.”
Fans flooded Simmons’ comments section and instantly slapped down her filtered post.
“WTF is this Robotic look you have going 🤨🤨”
“You’re already so beautiful you didn’t even need that filter. It’s way too much”
“For a split second I thought you was bald head. Then I saw the ponytail behind your head.”
“Now, you know that you don’t need filters.. smh take this off”
Despite how some folks felt about Simmons’ filtered pic, others swarmed her with compliments.
“Pure Beauty Angela let the hatters hate💜,” said one fan. “Your eyes are beautiful.”
Another added, “You still fine 😍 dam I can’t believe u woke up like that.”
Earlier this week, the 32-year-old mother of one took her confidence to the next level and shared a photo of herself semi-nude. She posed in front of her bedroom mirror with her legs open and her curly tresses covering her exposed areas.
“Self – Me – #Selfie new hair vibes #IHaveOnShortsPleaseDontStart 🤷🏽♀️ ,” she captioned her pic.
Over the years, she’s urged her followers to celebrate being confident in themselves and to care less about what people think.
“Confidence is key to life,” she wrote via Instagram on Feb. 20, 2019. “With confidence you win. When you have this ingredient … you do what you want. You can comfortably be in your own skin. There is nothing anyone can do or say to shake that.”
Several fans applauded her boldness at the time.
“I love how she’s always so confident in herself. Go Angela! Don’t let nobody tell you different,.”
“Yesss miss Simmons! Love the skin your in. It took me a long time to be confident but I am no. Thank you for this”
