Keyshia Cole and her boyfriend Niko “Khale” Hale confirmed their chosen moniker for their child in a sweet Instagram post this past weekend.
The 37-year-old crooner has been extremely adamant about shielding her newborn from paparazzi and the public eye since the child’s birth. She has yet to reveal the baby’s physical identity, but her and Khale finally disclosed the infant’s name.
She took to Instagram story on Saturday and posted a photo of her son in a cute blue and white onesie. The R&B artist had her first performance in D.C. over the weekend post-birth and was seemingly suffering from separation anxiety. With a tearful emojicon, she wrote over the photo, “First show away from my @tobiaskhale.”
It’s unclear where the name Tobias comes from, but the child apparently takes his father’s middle name, Khale. Both Cole and Hale have made an official IG page for their newborn son, but it appears to be private.
In August, she gave fans a peek at her newborn with an upload. The photo showed the newborn’s arm on Cole’s chest as she seemingly held him in her arms. She said it’s been hard to refrain from sharing photos of her child, but she’s not allowed to do so until the airing of her upcoming reality show.
“It’s becoming so hard to keep from posting pictures of my little guy,” she wrote on Aug. 28. “His eyes are everything!! … But I have to wait until the show airs!”
Cole and Hale, 23, welcomed baby Tobias on Thursday, August 1. A day before their newborn was delivered, Hale wrote via Instagram that he was “nervous” and “excited” about fatherhood.
The singer is a second-time mother and shares 10-year-old son Daniel Gibson Jr. with estranged husband and former Cleveland Cavaliers player Daniel Gibson,
As for Cole’s new reality series, it will be a baby special set to premiere on BET network. The show is titled “My New Life” and is slated to air on Oct. 16, according to Rated R&B.
