It looks Atlanta rapper T.I. is demanding accountability after a Texas grandmother was assaulted and robbed presumably this week, while stopping at a gas station.
A heart-wrenching video went viral this week of 60-year-old Houston grandmother Sheila Henry, battling two assailants in the midst of filling up the gas tank to her truck. She was preparing to start her paper route, a job she’s worked at for 34 years, when she was confronted by a man who demanded the keys to her vehicle, WTHR-13 reported. Henry refused to do so and was chased, knocked down to the ground and attacked by the man.
Several celebrities reposted the surveillance footage of Henry’s attack, including rapper T.I. He blasted the thieves for being cowards and threatened to find the suspects responsible for the grandmother’s suffering.
“FUCKIN COWARDS‼️ Somebody out there knows who’s responsible for this heinous act against OUR elder…. & WE WILL FIND YOU‼️” the “You Don’t Know Me” rapper wrote Friday afternoon. “If you Contact someone (Not police) who can hold them accountable (outside of the law) this is not snitching…. 🖕🏽who feel otherwise‼️”
He continued and urged social media users to “Protect and defend” women, children and the elderly community, adding the hashtag ” #USorELSE”
Several fans chimed in on T.I.’s post.
“That’s right Tip! Hard to watch .. our young men really lost their way 💔”
“How you swing on and rob a defenseless woman, especially an elderly (black) woman? Wtf is going on in the world”
“Yo this had me so 😡!! Who’s raising these hoodlums… such a disgrace to the black community”
The video of Henry’s attack has been viewed on T.I.’s page 1.3 million times.
According to reports, the Houston grandmother’s truck was found a few blocks away from the gas station where the attack occurred. Along with her truck was her nearly emptied purse. No suspects have been arrested as of October 5. Details about the gas station and the exact time of when the incident occurred have yet to be revealed.
T.I.’s is known for speaking out on issues in the Black community. In July, he advocated for a 70-year-old woman who suffered a bruised and swollen eye while at an Ohio nursing home. He wrote on his IG page, “We ain’t Goin fa this s—!!! We Demand Answers,Evidence&Accountability….
