Congratulations are in order for “Love and Hip Hop” couple Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels.
The couple are expecting their first child together and announced the news on Tuesday, October 1. For months, fans speculated the 31-year-old model was pregnant after claiming her stomach appeared bigger than normal. Well, it seems their speculations were true and the couple couldn’t be happier.
In a pregnancy announcement video shared to VH1’s official YouTube page, the mother-to-be said, “I’m excited, but I told him parenthood isn’t all about … you know, letting the kid do what he wants to do.”
Samuels could barely contain his excitement and added, “I’m excited, I’m nervous, I’m in shock, I’m in disbelief … It’s like very surreal to me.”
The pair also posted photos of their intimate maternity shoot on Instagram at the same time. The images featured Mena and Samuels both topless as the “No Regular Girl” rapper cupped his fiancée’s breasts. The expectant mother posed with her hands around her belly.
“God knew my heart needed you,” Mena captioned the photo, while Samuels wrote, “I use to question things in life.. now I don’t. My First. Thankful… my work ethic is about to quadruple #wouldnthavewanteditanyotherway.”
The happy couple who’s slated to appear on season 10 of “Love and Hip Hop: New York,” got engaged on Christmas eve and are allegedly set to get married on Monday, October 7, although neither have confirmed this date.
Although the gender of Samuels and Mena’s baby has yet to be revealed, some fans believe she’s having a girl due to how low her belly is sitting, while others flooded them with a slew of congratulatory messages.

It’s unclear how far along Mena is, but she will be a second-time mother. She shares 12-year-old son King Conde with rapper Raul Conde. This will be Samuels’ first child.
