Kym Whitley recently suffered a nasty fall, and she showed the injuries Wednesday on Instagram.
But before the actor and comedian revealed the damage, she posted a video on Instagram Live and covered up her lip with a bag of ice. There was also a cut on the bridge of her nose, and Whitley explained what happened.
“So I was walking in a nursery and my face hit the pavement. I can’t let you see the rest,” she stated.
But Whitley removed the bag of ice in another Instagram video, which revealed an incredibly swollen top lip.
“Hey everybody, you know today was a regular day. I showed an Instagram story of me, it was just my face, it looked cut,” she explained. “Today I was running errands, and I had a little fall at a place of business. Life has a way of slowing you down. I didn’t know it was gonna be this bad. Tell me what you think … I am still sexy.”
“Just so my friends know, I am OK,” added the 58-year-old. “I did bust up my lip, four stitches in my nose, got a CAT scan and my knees are jacked up.”
Whitley also provided a little more detail on the fall in the caption.
“Had a little boo boo today,” she wrote. “One minute you’re fine and the next minute you could be in the bed with your girlfriend @jackiefabulous talking about can you please bring me some ice. Was in a place of business and there was a hole in the ground that they had not repaired. I stepped in it and fell on my face.”
Afterwards, some of Whitley’s celebrity friends sent well-wishes and stated how sorry they were.
“I’ll bring you some soup when I wake up,” wrote Loni Love.
“Dang. Sorry, Kym. Praying for you,” wrote Mary Mary’s Erica Campbell.
Holly Robinson Peete also sent a message and seemingly tried to cheer Whitley up with some humor.
“Damnnn! Please get better soon,” wrote Robinson Peete. “By the way, you know there are women that are out there trying to pay for that lip.”
